Zvezdana sTRings is a blend of two primordial sounds – the voice and the sound of archaic strings. The harp, an ancient instrument, offers countless ways of expression and a plethora of sound colors and dynamic ranges. The harp can be used for accompaniment, as a solo instrument, for impressionist coloring, onomatopoeia or even as a percussion instrument. This talk with the harp draws from arrangements for voice and harp like troubadour songs and old Celtic, Scottish and Irish tunes, and harmonic accompaniment to singing, while also searching for new dimensions of sound by incorporating less typical playing techniques like strumming the strings
or using a fan.
